Thanks from Brian Wechsler

Thank you! You are helping bring the hope of the Gospel to Alaska.

I’ve had the privilege of visiting Galena, Alaska. I traveled with the missionary up the Yukon River. What I learned caused me to be deeply committed to working there.

• I watched offerings being made to the spirits at a local funeral

• I was told that only 95% of the children there are being born with fetal alcohol syndrome . . . and this was better than it used to be

• I saw the hopelessness in people’s faces

They need the love and hope of Jesus Christ. And your gift is making that possible! You are touching people in Galena, Nenana, and other communities in Alaska.

We know from our sixty years’ experience of keeping country churches alive that when a church is able to have a full time pastor and through his leadership moves toward spiritual vibrancy, an entire community is positively affected. I saw it happen where my wife Carole and I served in Red Feather Lakes, CO. And we are seeing it happen in Galena and Nenana.

While visiting this site, I hope you’ll take a moment to send an email of encouragement to the missionaries, register for email updates, and send a gift to help us meet our needs.

Please continue to pray that God will fully meet the financial and personnel needs facing our ministry in Alaska.

In Him,

Rev. Brian S. Wechsler

Alaska Benefit Dinner a Success

Thank you!!! Thank you to all who helped make our Alaska Benefit Dinner in Dallas Oregon a success!

On June 20th, about 200 friends of Village Missions gathered near Dallas, Oregon, to hear field reports from our Alaska Missionaries, and also hear a challenge from our Director Emeritus, Dr. Jack Canady. Thanks to the generosity of table sponsors who paid for the dinner, 100% of the funds raised that evening are going directly to the Alaska Ministry. Over $10,000 was raised that evening!

In addition to the gifts received that evening, a number of friends are partnering with us as monthly supporters. Monthly support is so important, because our Alaska missionaries are committed to staying on the field until the job is done, or the Lord calls them home.

The annual cost of keeping our two current fields going is about $55,000. We still need friends who are willing to partner up and give $20, $50, $100 a month. Whatever the Lord enables you to do, so our Alaska missionaries can keep their hand to the plow on their fields of ministry.

Use the “Give Online” link at the top of this page to become a partner today!

About the Project...
